There is a $10 tryout fee collected during the online registration process. Please use the CODE 0405 when you checkout to process the $10 fee.

 

Team Tryout Schedule

GIRLS: Sunday October 25, 2026

1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.

Tryouts will be held at the Wells HS main gym. Enter through the Foyer doors near the Pool, on the Hillsdale side of the campus.

Team fee for players selected will be $495. Fee includes a game jersey and game shorts, which can be kept at season's end.

Once teams are selected, the full balance will be collected before the first practice. Once teams are selected, the full balance will be collected before the first practice. Players not selected will be transferred automatically to our Recreational Goldenball program. The tryout fee will be applied to your Recreational registration and you will bein invoiced for the $140 balance for Goldenball. You also may request a refund of the tryout fee and forego Goldenball participation. More information about this process will be provided shortly after tryouts.

 

 

 

This is a competitive Development Program for 4th and 5th grade girls players. It is designed for players who want the opportunity to develop their skills through more competitive coaching and game experiences. THERE WILL BE A MAX OF 1 TEAM PER GRADE LEVEL.

Teams will play in local tournaments 6 weekends during December 2026-early March 2027. Tournament format will largely involve two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday, but some weekends could be just one day, resulting in approximately 20-24 games for the season. Teams will practice 2 times per week for 90 minutes in SW Portland area gyms, beginning in mid-November.

By registering, you agree to waive and release Portland Public Schools, Ida B. Wells High School and Wells Prep Basketball from any liability for injuries incurred by your child during tryouts, practices, clinics and games.
