RECREATIONAL TEAMS - 3RD-5TH GRADES - BOYS & GIRLS

For 2025-26, Wells Prep will offer management of registration, team formation, uniform jerseys, and practice coordination for Wells boys and girls teams in Goldenball, the Saturday recreational program by Portland Parks & Rec. Practice will begin in mid-November to early December. Games will be in January/February 2026. No tryouts required.

TOURNAMENT TEAMS - 4TH & 5TH GRADE - BOYS & GIRLS

This is a competitive Development Program for 4th and 5th grade boys and girls. It is designed for players who want the opportunity to develop their skills through more competitive coaching and game experiences. Tryouts required, with a tryout fee of only $10.

Teams will play in competitive local tournaments 6 weekends during December 2025-early March 2026. Tournament format will largely involve two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday, but some weekends could be just one day, resulting in approximately 20-24 games for the season. Teams will practice 2 times per week for 90 minutes in SW Portland area gyms, beginning in mid-November. 

There will be one team selected per grade, per gender.

Team fee for players selected will be $495. Fee includes a game jersey and game shorts, which can be kept at season's end.

Once teams are selected, the total balance less the tryout fee will be collected before the first practice.

Players who try out and are not selected will be automatically moved over to our Recreational program (See above). The tryout fee will be applied to your automatic Goldenball Recreational registration and you will be placed on a team and invoiced for the balance of fees due ($120). You also may request a refund of the tryout fee and elect not to play on a Goldenball team. More information about this process will be provided shortly after tryouts.
